OSM, or Online Scout Manager, is a computer system that we and many other Scout Groups use to manage our records, programmes and events, freeing up time for Leaders to run activities for young people rather than spending time on admin.
As well as Leaders, every parent has access to OSM. Presently the Scout Section uses it fully, while it is being phased in in the other Sections.
When a young person joins, or when they are invited to an event, the parent is sent an e-mail inviting them to OSM. These can be used to log in directly. When you use one of these links, you can also set up an account to log in in future – this is a good idea as you can then log in directly from the menu above. If you have more than one young person in the Group you can have separate accounts, or if you use the same email and password for both when registering one account can work for both.
If you’ve lost the link please use the contact option above and we will send you a new one. This will go to the e-mail address you registered with us, so please do let us know if that changes!
You can also update details via OSM if something changes – please do help us by keeping this up to date and advising your Section Leader if you have changed something.
If you want to look at the Photos section of this website, the password is available when you log into OSM.
You can also book online for most camps and events in OSM. This uses a payment system called GoCardless which uses direct debit rather than a credit/debit card for payment. You have two options here, you can make a one off payment, or you can set up an ongoing direct debit so if you click “yes” to an event you are automatically billed for it when the deadline passes.
Please note that, for Beavers, Cubs and Scouts, direct debits for camps are completely separate to Subs standing orders.
Because of how this works, sometimes payments can take a few days to go through. Don’t worry about this – we will let you know if anything needs sorting out.
Even if not paying online, if the event is on OSM it’s really helpful if you can click Yes or No to let us know if your child is attending or not – that really helps our planning.
